In this tutorial I'll show you how to pass the time, literally.. This tutorial is quite simple all you need is a couple of color correction nodes and a flash light. Below is an example of what we will be trying to accomplish with this effect.

Go ahead and FileIn your source footage. Attach a Compress node to your footage.

I left the Low Color value the same and changed the High Color value to a darker blue. You will want to test to see what value of color works best with your composite.

Now add a ContrastLum to the Compress node and adjust the values till you get something like the image below.

Now add a Brightness node and adjust the values to bring out the clouds and to darken your sky.

Now some of you might think your done now. Well guess again Charlie! We're artist remember? Let's give it a red tint by creating a Ramp node. Make the ramp descend vertically from red to white. Offset the red color to give it an orangish look.

The attach an iMult to the Brightness node and plug the Ramp into the right input of the iMult. This will multiply the pixels into the final image giving it a nice tint to the sky. Ok....now your done.

Extra! Depending on the kind of sky you're working with you might want to add a star field.
