Audio + Shake

If you haven’t notice yet when you import quicktime that has sound into Shake it strips the movie file of it’s audio. The audio file must be imported separately into Shake using the Audio Panel.

Attach an iAdd node between the two images, this will create our glow effect.

Using Audio
You never want to use Shake to add music and sound effects to your comps. It’s always better to use an editing software like Final Cut Pro, that’s what it’s there for. Audio in Shake is best used for timing and keyframing effects or animations.

The effect is too harsh so let's soften it up a bit by adding a blur node to the matte image.

..And giving it a value of 24 to soften the glow effect.

Great now that we have our final glow effect set up we are now ready to use our audio files to create the keyframes.
